In order to fully utilize the performance of used generators, normal maintenance is very important. What is going to be popular for everyone today is the importance of grease for generators! During use, all generator greases will deteriorate due to oxidation, excessive oil bleed, mechanical operation, and oil volatilization.
In practice, it is important to develop and comply with the scientific motor bearing lubrication management plan to maintain and even stimulate the performance of used generators.
The methods to stimulate the higher performance of used generators are as follows:
First, timing
The factors that affect the frequency of grease replacement are complex and generally include temperature, continuity of use, amount of grease injected, bearing size and speed, seal effectiveness, and suitability of the grease for specific applications. Therefore, deciding when and how often to replace the grease is not an easy task. Normally, continuous operation of light-duty to medium-duty motors requires replacement of grease at least once a year; for each 10 °C above the nominal recommended temperature, the grease replacement interval needs to be reduced by half.
Second, quantitative
Determining the amount of grease injected into a motor bearing is one of the important steps in bearing primary lubrication and grease replacement. Insufficient grease injection can cause bearing failure due to insufficient lubrication, and too much injection can cause bearing failure and problems caused by grease being introduced into the electromagnetic winding. For the second-hand generator rental quantification problem, the following two methods can be used to determine the grease injection amount of the bearing:
1/2 to 2/3 of the remaining space in the bearing – another way to determine the proper grease injection amount for the bearing when the running speed is less than 50% of the bearing's ultimate speed is to use the following formula:
o Grease injection amount (g) = bearing outer diameter (mm) X bearing width (mm) X0.005;
o or grease injection (ounces) = 0.114X bearing outer diameter (inches) X bearing width (inches) X0.005;
